UAE Denounces Hostile Action in Strategic Waterway
The United Arab Emirates has issued a strong condemnation following an attack on an ADNOC national tanker as it navigated the Strait of Hormuz. According to official reports, the vessel was targeted by two unmanned aerial vehicles, though no injuries were reported during the incident.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the strike represents a clear violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which mandates the protection of commercial shipping and the preservation of international maritime corridors. Officials emphasized that the targeting of commercial vessels undermines global energy security and regional stability.
The ministry characterized the actions, attributed to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, as acts of piracy intended to use the strait as a tool for economic leverage and political coercion. The UAE has demanded that Iran immediately cease all hostile activities and ensure the unhindered flow of international trade through the waterway.
This escalation highlights the growing tensions currently impacting the region. For further insights on the unfolding geopolitical situation, see our latest coverage here: Iran Us War Live updates
