US Military Tightens Grip on Strategic Waterway
President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States Navy maintains full operational control over the Strait of Hormuz. The President stated that the vital shipping lane will remain tightly locked, asserting that no vessel may enter or exit the region without explicit authorization from American naval forces.
This development comes as Iran faces increasing pressure from ongoing Iran USA tensions. The President remarked that Tehran is currently navigating an internal power struggle between factions, while simultaneously grappling with the fallout of the current Iran war posture in the region.
In a direct warning to Iranian forces, President Trump announced that he has ordered the US Navy to fire upon any vessel attempting to plant mines within the strait. He further noted that American minesweepers are actively working to clear the area, with efforts to remove existing hazards now tripled in intensity.
The US Department of Defense bolstered these claims by confirming the recent interception of an Iranian oil tanker in the Indian Ocean. Officials emphasized that international waters will not be used as a shield for sanctioned entities, promising continued disruption of networks providing material support to Tehran.
