The Egyptian government has officially approved a draft presidential decree granting a pardon for the remainder of prison sentences for a specific group of inmates. This decision comes as part of the country’s traditional observances marking the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday, which falls on the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH.
Selection Process for Presidential Pardon
Following the Cabinet's approval, the Ministry of Interior is set to mobilize specialized committees to conduct a thorough review of inmate files. The objective is to identify candidates who meet the established legal criteria for early release, allowing them to return to their families in time for the Eid al-Adha celebrations.
Commitment to Legal Procedures
The presidential pardon lists are prepared in line with established national traditions and legal frameworks practiced during major religious and national events. These periodic reviews are intended to facilitate social reintegration for eligible individuals while adhering strictly to the oversight of the relevant security and judicial authorities.
