Weather Outlook for April 23
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has announced a slight rise in temperatures across most parts of the country today, Thursday, April 23, 2026. While the afternoon will feel warm, residents should expect the characteristic fluctuations of the spring season, transitioning from cool morning hours to a warmer day and back to a mild, cool night.
Morning Fog and Visibility Warnings
Drivers are urged to exercise caution during the early morning hours, specifically between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM. Dense water fog is expected to settle over agricultural and arterial roads, particularly those connecting to Greater Cairo, the North Coast, the Nile Delta, and the Suez Canal cities. These conditions may significantly reduce visibility for commuters.
Wind Activity and Temperature Breakdown
Meteorological officials also noted intermittent wind activity, with speeds reaching between 30 and 32 km/h in Greater Cairo and South Sinai. These breezes are likely to heighten the sensation of the day's fluctuating temperatures. Additionally, there is a slight chance of low-level cloud cover across northern regions, which could result in light, non-impactful mist in some isolated areas.
Regional Temperature Forecast
The capital, Cairo, is expected to see a daytime high of 30°C and an overnight low of 18°C. Similar conditions are forecast for Alexandria, with highs of 30°C and lows of 17°C. In contrast, Aswan and the southern governorates remain significantly warmer, with peak temperatures reaching 35°C, marking a clear divide in heat levels between the north and south of the country.
