Major Humanitarian Relief Effort for Gaza
The Egyptian Red Crescent has officially launched its 181st humanitarian aid convoy, titled Zad Al-Izza, as part of ongoing efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. The convoy, currently entering through the Rafah border crossing, is carrying more than 5,480 tons of comprehensive aid designated for over two million civilians.
The relief package includes a significant allocation of essential resources to address critical shortages. The shipment consists of 2,610 tons of food supplies and flour, 1,365 tons of medical materials and personal hygiene kits, and over 1,505 tons of fuel to power hospitals and vital infrastructure within the enclave.
Beyond medical and food supplies, the Egyptian Red Crescent is distributing winterized support, including blankets, tents, and clothing to provide shelter for displaced families. These supplies are being delivered as part of a national coordination effort to ensure that basic needs are met despite the ongoing instability in the region.
The organization also announced that it is preparing to receive the 37th group of injured and sick Palestinians arriving for medical treatment. On the ground, the Red Crescent continues to provide care, including the distribution of hot meals and the provision of support services for those transiting through the Rafah border.
Since the conflict began, the Egyptian Red Crescent has maintained an active presence at the border, ensuring that the crossing remains an active artery for aid. To date, the organization has facilitated the entry of over 900,000 tons of humanitarian supplies, supported by a network of 65,000 volunteers across its logistical centers.
